Freewrite, no edits:
Imagine a darkness,
Turning the key it’s easy to open and fall in and tumble endlessly with your head between your knees and falling and falling
Assuming darkness is anything like space.

Imagine a darkness
Open it inside yourself and feel it seep
Into your veins and into your cells and open a space there
A space to hold and keep and remember in times when it would seem the light may overtake you.

Imagine a darkness
Opening inside yourself
I have a darkness opening inside myself and unfolding
Like those timelapsed photographs of flowers blooming to perfect and stretch to embrace the sun before they fall apart
And maybe it’s the light that’s destructive, taking more then what we have, wanting more than what we have and watering it useless, flooding it with light until all our secret drawers are emptied of our precious little gifts of darkness.

I have a darkness opening inside myself and it is endless erasing my fingerprints.

Everything I touch holds no memory of me it forgets and remembers the darkness, a blinding darkness where red monster shine and cry at their humanity. Why do you have to pull me hair out one strand at a time? Do you think I have an endless supply? Do you think everything is endless? Maybe change, he says, rolling over, making a crater in the space where he lay and curling into a little ball as if to protect the darkness by curling himself around it.
